Aches, Pains, and Strains

 

A pulled muscles or aching joint can put a damper on an otherwise perfect day.  Try using essential oils on a compress to aid a strained muscle.  Or just soak in a bath scented with essential oils after a long, weary day.

Rheumatism (joint pain & inflammation): Angelica, Birch, Chamomile, Cypress, Eucalyptus, Ginger, Juniper, Lavender, Lemon, Lime, Marjoram, Rosemary, Spruce, Thyme
Muscle Cramps: Ambrette Seed, Chamomile, Eucalyptus, Juniper, Lavender, Lemon, Marjoram, Mandarin, Neroli, Rose, Ylang-Ylang
Muscle Pain:
Ambrette Seed, Basil, Eucalyptus, Bay, Ginger, Peppermint, Petitgrain, Pine, Marjoram, Rosemary
Sprains:
Basil, Citronella, Clary Sage, Eucalyptus, Ginger, Marjoram, Spruce
Backache:
Ambrette Seed, Bay, Citronella, Clary Sage, Eucalyptus, Juniper, Lavender, Marjoram, Pine, Rosemary, Spruce, Thyme
Stiff Neck: Eucalyptus, Spruce

The best ways to treat Aches, Pains, and Strains are Massage, Bath, and Compress.  For instructions on how to use these methods, go to Methods of Use.

The best way to treat Rheumatism is with a Hot Compress with maybe Angelica, Lime, or Pine.

The best way to treat Muscles Cramps is with either a Hot Compress or you might want to try 10 drops of Lavender in a hot bath.

The best way to treat Muscle Pain is either with a Hot Compress or try making a Massage oil out of this combination: 
8 drops Lavender + 5 drops Petitgrain + 2 drops Basil + 60ml (12 tsps) sunflower oil

The best way to treat Sprains is with a Cold Compress with Basil, Citronella, or Marjoram.

The best way to treat a Stiff Neck is with a Hot Compress with Spruce and/or Eucalyptus.
